I was in the mood for stories based on soccer and I say this one come up on a few list. I was especially excited to see it tied to my favorite Premier League club Manchester City. Enjoyable movie set in a post WWII England especially for fans of sports movies.

Director: Rupert Goold | Writer(s): Tom Edge, Peter Quilter I’ll be honest. I did not really know anything about Judy Garland’s life. Stories that hone in on a particular time in an individual‘s life can be very telling and more interesting than going through their entire life story. Judy is another example of that with a few flashbacks to add layers of context. Great job by Renée Zellweger as I didn’t even know it was her until about 10 to 15 minutes into the movie.

Director: Martin Scorsese | Writer(s): Steven Zaillian This is a long ass movie! I know Avengers: Endgame was too but it certainly didn’t feel like it. This felt like it was the original director’s cut and Scorsese said, “Most people will be watching on Netflix. Just leave it.” Also, what is up with the “de-aging” technology? They never really looked young to me at all.
